The History of the Golf Classic & BGCLT

2024 marks the 31th anniversary of the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe’s Annual Golf Classic. Edgewood Tahoe has once again so graciously provided the Club with private access to one of the world’s premier courses. 36 foursomes enjoy a round of golf with fun entertainment and drinks from some of our local favorites throughout the day.

A tradition of the Golf Classic is to have a hole-in-one competition on holes 5, 7, 12 and 17, with Hole no. 17 giving you the chance to win a car and a KP contest on the same holes! In recent years, the Classic has been extremely well supported by Desolation Hotel, Maggie’s Restaurant, Sorensen’s Cafe, MacDuff’s Pub, Weidinger PR, STR, US Bank, and SLT Optimist. We are always looking to expand and partner with more amazing supporters.

With Edgewood Tahoe’s generosity, 100% of the money raised at the Golf Classic goes directly to the Club. This means that every penny donated in the past 30 years (over 1.1 million dollars), has gone directly to serving and supporting the youth of our community.
